2020 | Series of 5 (+2) fine art printing on hahnemuhle paper, cm 45x60
This series of works analyzes different conceptions of space, from the images representing it to the fantasies that these images feed. The idea is to seek an infinite dimension by superimposing different environments and memories to create a dialogue between the human being and her/himself, as if a person, lived in different places and eras, would sum up the weight of each gesture made through continuous time jumps.
Through the use of the same technology, analog photography, a deferred dialogue is created between the artist and the astronaut Edward White, the American astronaut who carried out the first spacewalk during the 1965 space mission Gemini IV.
His photographs of the Earth, taken more than 50 years ago from space, find their place by resting on other photographs, taken instead by the artist, from the earth to space, in 2019. With the use of images, we go to search for a similarity by contact, as a surface foil. This is how actions performed in distant moments still provoke reactions today, sometimes clashing with the same problems and expectations.
